Differences between Adrian Mole y   thirteen.

The Similarities and Differences between...

Similiarities:

-The film and the book are about children who are 13 years old, go they talk about adolescent life.
- Divorce is one of the main subjects bullying is also a theme in both the film and the book.
- The film and the book look at friendship, being a teenager, growing up, bullying, divorcie and the relationships but the similiarities finish here.

The differences between the film and the book

-Adrian Mole is funny but thirteen is controversial. - Thirteen is more violent and extreme.

- Adrian is not angry about divorce he is only worried about who will look after him.
- In thirteen Tracy is agry about divorce and starts to abuse herself.

- Adrian's problems about reading pornographic magazines.
- Adrian is worried about spots and his ''thing'.

In thirteen: The teenage problems are more extreme, self abuse (cutting),  shoplifting , drugs and sex.

The theme of love in Adrian Mole is very nice. He loves Pandora and writes poetry for her but there is nothing more than kissing. In thirteen the theme of love is more extreme and sexual.

In both the film and the book the end of the story is the children reuniting with their parents or parent but in Thirteen the end is not so positive, Tracy is still alone.
CONCLUSIONS:

The similiarities between them are the themes. The differences are the way the themes are shown.
In my opinion I think that the film is the other extreme to the book
I think that is more realistic than the bbook in this time but I prefer the life of Adrian because is happier than the film.
